It was just begging to be made into a theme park ride, and who better to make that a reality than a destination that touted the tagline “Ride the Movies!” On July 2, 1997, the first Men in Black film hit theaters with wild success. It’s no wonder to me how this ride has endured and remains one of the fan-favorites at the parks. Little did I know that this would become one of the biggest life-changing moments for me…but more to come on that later.įast forward 10 years and I find myself now writing for the Universal Orlando blog about this attraction turning the big 2-0. Admittingly, I based my choice solely on what wardrobe I thought I would look best in. I was given the choice of which attraction to work, and I chose MEN IN BLACK Alien Attack. This was 10 years ago when I interviewed for a job at Universal Orlando Resort. If you want to play both courses, there a little bit of a discount, at $24.99 for adults and $20.99 for kids ages 3-9. To play one course, it is $13.99 for adults and $11.99 for ages 3-9. The new courses are open seven days a week, from 8:00 am – 2:00 am. Within this area you might hear songs such as “Intergalactic” by the Beastie Boys and “It’s the End of the World” by R.E.M. This course has several sets of stairs for some multilevel holes. “Invasion of Planet Putt” is a whimsical look at an alien invasion. ![]() Within this area you might hear classic songs such as “Thriller” and “Monster Mash”. It is a little darker in nature, using sound and light to create some of the spooky effects. “The Haunting of Ghostly Greens” features a graveyard, a pet cemetery and a haunted house. The first course, “The Haunting of Ghostly Greens,” is inspired by horror movies, while its counterpart, “Invasion of Planet Putt” is designed like a sci-fi movie. There are two 18-hole miniature golf courses that are each themed like a drive-in movie theater and are inspired by different movie genres. In 2012, Universal Orlando Resort officially opened central Florida’s most outrageously themed miniature golf experience – Hollywood Drive-In Golf at Universal CityWalk. ![]()
